Chapter 11. Full Moon Madness

When the boys return from the Isle of Odin after Orus has passed his test they find a feast awaiting them as if they’re expecting them to be victorious.

Orus then feels very nervous at the dinner which Una is eyeing as if waiting for something and knowing what it is he gets up and then ask her if she would like to go on a date with at the full moon. And then ask her mother if it’s alright with her if they do go on a date.

Valka gives her permission and then her daughter blurts out a strange request that can she and Orus have their date at family sanctuary? Please?

Valka and the other family look a little taken aback and uneasy for a few moments then say give them a few minutes as they go to the other room behind closed doors. There is some muffled talking and also a strange light under the crack at the door and after ten minutes they return and her mommy speaks.

She agrees that she and Orus may got there under one condition. Una looks a bit deflated and then ask that she must blindfold him and make sure he’s got no idea how to get there or where they are for now right?

Her mother nods and says for now the location must remain a secret. He may be allowed to enter it but not know where it is. That decision comes from the head of the family and she know she can’t disobey him.

Sighing she says she understand and won’t disobey his wishes but is thankful that he’s at least allowing her to have her first date where he and their mother had such a wonderful time on their special day.

Orus is bewildered and confused about what they are talking about, though he’s learned by now not to ask questions and let the answer come along when they do.

So for the next three days the village is buzzing about the upcoming first date and helping the two get ready for it and giving their advice for each of the young lovers about what they did for their first date.

The night before the date Hawly tracks both of them down separately and tells them the stones spoke to her and she says they told her that while tonight the moon shines brightly down on them, there is still a dark cloud in the near future that may block out the sunshine forever.

That night after both have cleaned up and are looking their finest as are their dragons they’re given a basket of food and supplies before Orus must be blindfolded.

Then they take off and just before sunset reach the secret location that is Lover’s Cove and she takes off the blindfold and shows him her family’s secret location and he’s blown away by it of course.

She holds out her hand and he’s confused till Sylt whispering she wants to dance and they start to dance with the setting sun on the beach and the ocean splashing their feet.

As they finish dancing the wave knocks them over and into each other arms and it feels so right but he gets her off him not wanting to take thing so fast and they start a fire and warm up.

They start to stargaze as Una tells him stories about the stars and slowly the talk turns more about her explaining more about herself, her family and some of her past adventures and this location.

She shows him all the special parts of the location and how each part has special meaning to her family and their history to Berk and the world.

Then sky becomes alive once more with the aurora borealis and more and she tells him to fly with her and sing with her and Nightrainbow as they do their full moon duet.

Which they dance and sing more while mixed in with the living rainbow which is exactly alike it was a few weeks ago. Una seems to have a special connection to it all.

Then she tells him to try something else she falls off her dragon and lets Nightrainbow catch her by her outstretch arms and they skim the water which Orus does copy the move.

Then they take to the air once more and Una shows off her amazing agility and gymnastic moves as if daring Orus to show her what he got. He matches her move for move.

Finally they both swan dive hand in hand off their dragons into the water and surface laughing as they crawl back to their fire to dry off admit that was on amazing first date.

She confesses neither of her brothers first dates were anything like that but she had a lot of fun but it’s getting late and they should be getting back to the house.

Orus says he has one more thing to do before they go home. Walking over to the same tree where her parents have their declaration of love he takes his scythe out and craves his own message declaring how much he loves her.

He says he might not be able to name a flower after but he will let the world know he loves her.

Feeling honored she blindfolds him again and they head home. As they leave they don’t see the waterfall shimmer as Stoick watches his daughter and her love depart to walk over to tree and press his hand over the new declaration.

He says out loud the boy feelings are strong and true. Then he plants a flower at the base of the tree. It unlike any of the other flowers here. It a flower just for them and it will be Una’s flower for when they come back here.

Or when she gets married he’ll give it to her whatever comes first but it will always grow here too. Just like Valka flower Valka’s Lily. Now there is Una’s Lilac
